The Argentine government deeply regrets the news of the stampede that took place during a large-scale religious celebration on Mount Meron, in the State of Israel, which left many dead and injured.
We also regret to inform that the tragic accident resulted in the death of Avraham Daniel Embón, a twenty-one-year-old Argentine student residing in Israel. The Argentine Consulate General in Tel Aviv received confirmation of his death and Consulate officials have contacted his family to provide assistance and support. Foreign Minister Felipe Solá has specifically instructed the General Directorate for Consular Affairs to provide assistance to the relatives in Argentina.
